Ministry of Health and Social Protection

With the creation of the Albanian state (1912), health was not an integral sector in the new government. The government led by Ismail Qemali appointed its representative, Dhimitër Berati, to cover the media and health problems.

In 1914, the Government created by Prince Vidi, built a new structure, entrusting health to the Minister of Education Mihal Turtulli. After the fall of the government and the start of the First World War, health did not recognize a special development and structure.

In 1920, with the government created by the Congress of Lushnja, the structure of the General Directorate of Health was created, which functioned as such until 1944.
